About

The Boston University iGEM program trains a team of diverse, interdisciplinary undergraduate students to participate in iGEM, an internationally recognized competition focused on synthetic biology innovation. Teams conceptualize, prototype, and present novel genetic engineering solutions. What makes BU’s team unique is the integration of biology, hardware, and software - utilizing insights from a variety of Boston University undergraduate educational experiences. Past projects have tackled precision agriculture, women’s health, and microbial communication research tools.

Your support enables students to use the design–build–test–learn cycle to tackle new biotechnology challenges every year. In addition, your donation will help ensure the student team members will be able to attend the culminating season conference, the iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris, France, an international stage for the competition. Furthermore, participating at the Grand Jamboree will allow the team to showcase their season of hard work and ingenuity amongst 400+ other teams while having the opportunity network with industry and academic partners across the international biotechnology industry.
