Boston University’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is fundraising to send 30 students to the 2025 SHPE National Convention in Philadelphia, PA (October 29 – November 1, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center). This is the largest gathering of Hispanic STEM students and professionals in the country, providing career-changing opportunities such as networking with Fortune 500 recruiters, leadership development workshops, and access to internships and full-time offers. The total cost of sending our students, including registration, travel, and lodging is significant, and we want to make sure that every member has the chance to attend regardless of financial background. Many of our students are first-generation and low-income, so your support makes a direct difference in providing access to this life-changing event.
How donations will be used:
$1000- sponsors one student's full convention experience (registration, travel, lodging, and meals)
$400– covers lodging for two students
$345 – covers one student’s convention registration fee
$150 – contributes toward travel costs from Boston to Philadelphia
$100 – helps cover group meals for students during the 4-day convention
Donations will be used right away to cover registration deadlines in September, hotel reservations in October, and travel expenses for the convention at the end of October.
To make it fun, we’re adding a special challenge:
👉 For every $25 donation, the donor gets to vote on which E-Board member (including our President!) gets pied in the face. Yes, on video and we’ll share it with a thank you shoutout! (If you donate for the challenge contact us on Instagram @shpe.bostonu or email Shpe@bu.edu)
