At the mere age of 8, I remember carrying five heavy bags of food into the North York Harvest Food Bank in Toronto, Canada (my hometown). Cheers erupted when they weighed in at 53.5 pounds. This event sparked my passion for community service.
Contributing to my local food bank as a young child showed me how vital pantries are in providing stability and dignity to families in need. I want to be an advocate for the Food Pantry because it makes a tangible difference and demonstrates values of empathy and community, which I care very deeply about.
