When the LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center opened its doors in December 2023, it became something many queer students had been waiting for their entire lives - a place where they could simply be themselves. In just over a year, the Center has hosted more than 200 programs, opened a gender-affirming closet where students can access clothing that feels right, created BU's first specialty housing for queer students at Lavender House, and built a library filled with stories that reflect their experiences.
For queer students navigating identity, relationships, and belonging while pursuing their education, the Center provides both celebration and sanctuary. From joyful PRIDE events to the deeply moving Lavender Ceremony honoring queer graduates, every program says, “you belong here, exactly as you are.”
Your gift helps ensure every queer student at BU has access to the affirmation and community they deserve, allowing them to focus not on survival, but on thriving.

- $100 provides a stole for 1 graduating queer student to wear at commencement
