Some of the most meaningful growth happens when students step beyond campus to serve, lead, and connect with their community. The Student Leadership & Impact Center brings together BU's beloved Community Service Center and Student Activities Office, expanding their reach while honoring everything that made both offices special.
SLIC will sustain the cherished programs of the former Community Service Center in this new alignment - First-Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP) welcomes hundreds of new Terriers through service, showing them from day one what it means to be part of something bigger. Days of Service (D.o.S.) is a weekly service initiative to help support positive change in the greater Boston community. Alternative Service Breaks (A.S.B.) send students across the country for week-long immersions in communities different from their own. Student Food Rescue (S.F.R.) volunteers rescue thousands of pounds of food weekly, delivering it directly to Boston neighbors who need it. And through BU Voices (B.U.V.), students help build a culture where civic participation matters.
Meanwhile, SLIC will continue to support our nearly 500 recognized student organizations and provide the leadership development that helps students discover their best selves.
Your gift ensures students have the mentorship, resources, and opportunities to lead lives of purpose and service - skills and connections that will shape them forever.
