The BU Dinghy Sailors (BUDS) are a co-ed team that competes in the Northeast Conference of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA). The BUDS have a storied past and a bright future, thanks to the support of our many alumni, family members, and friends. Founded in 1937, the team has gone through numerous eras, but has stayed true to its mission of representing Boston University with competitive spirit and sportsmanship at the highest level of collegiate sailing. With our 100th birthday not far off, exciting new changes approach.
A generous recent donation allowed for the creation of an endowment, the Kalich Family Sailing Fleet Endowment! This endowment will secure funding for our FJ fleet in perpetuity. More information for how you can support this fund will be announced soon.
This Giving Day, your donations directly to the team will support our many other projects that keep the team moving forward. In particular, your support goes towards paying our wonderful assistant coaches (many of whom are alumni themselves), supporting our larger travel expenses (spring training in Miami, Atlantic Coast Championships, and Nationals), and maintaining the Sailing Pavilion and all its equipment.
