Proyecto R.E.A.L. (Recuperación, Empoderamiento, y Asistencia Legal): Spring Break Pro Bono Trip to Puerto Rico
Your support of Proyecto R.E.A.L. will enable a dedicated team of Boston University law students to travel to Puerto Rico in March 2025, where they will provide essential legal assistance to communities impacted by recent hurricanes. Working in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico Law School and its Resiliency Law Center, our team will focus on a "know-your-rights" campaign, educating residents on housing rights, land recovery, and access to disaster relief. This project will include surveying gaps in access to essential resources like FEMA support, insurance, food, water, and shelter—data that will be used to advocate for stronger services in future disaster responses. Your donations will help us cover travel expenses, lodging, materials, and meals, ensuring that we can make a meaningful impact on the often-overlooked central and western regions of Puerto Rico. Together, we can promote resilience, empowerment, and legal support for those most affected by natural disasters.
Join Us in Making a Difference
This Giving Tuesday, be a part of something bigger. Your generosity can make a lasting difference in the lives of our students and the broader community. Together, we can uphold Boston University's mission and spirit and create a brighter future for all.
