We are Terrier Motorsport, the Formula SAE Electric racing team at Boston University. We strive to build an electric car from scratch and compete yearly at the National Formula Hybrid + Electric competition at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Our organization aims to promote hands-on experiences to the next generation of engineers and those interested in business, marketing, and graphic design, giving students industry experience that they simply cannot obtain in a lecture hall. This year, on top of starting our design process for our next car (TM02) we are pushing to make major improvements to our current car (TM01) to bring to the competition in May 2026. Your generous donation would go towards competition costs, upgraded equipment, and critical materials for our team. To help contextualize, the cost of building a car is quite hefty, but any amount would be a big help to us.
$50-$100 could help us upgrade our safety supplies which include masks and respirators, gloves, hearing protection, welding helmets, and coveralls.
$500-$1,000 would help with a variety of bigger parts and tools. For our electrical team, this would include more soldering irons, better power supplies, and a high-voltage DC/DC. For our mechanical team, this would include prototyping equipment such as 3D printers and filament, as well as a radiator pump, composites, and epoxy resin.
$2,000-$3,000 would help with entry competition costs as well as transportation costs for the team, competition car, and supplies we needed at the competition.
