This Giving Day, the Linguistics Department is raising funds to support both graduate and undergraduate research in linguistics. This may be costs associated with linguistic fieldwork on endangered languages, a steady priority among faculty and students in our department. Funds would also be used to cover costs associated with experimental research, such as the wide variety of studies ongoing on the department now in speech production, speech perception, semantics and pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psychologinguistics, and beyond.
Our department strives to support not only PhD students writing qualifying papers or dissertations, but also MA students and undergraduates who are involved in research and hope to build a future in our field. We also aim to fund student travel to present their work at conferences around the world.
