The College Advising Corps believes in increasing opportunities for students by making education beyond high school more accessible and equitable. Through near-peer mentoring and postsecondary planning and advising, College Advising Corps supports over 8000 students every year to realize their college and postsecondary goals. Working in Boston, Somerville, Malden and Lynn, our advisers are embedded in the schools they serve, becoming part of the school community, and impacting change every day.
The majority of students served by CAC advisers are first generation college students, and hail from disenfranchised communities. Your gift supports our advisers in providing 1:1 counseling and advising, family meetings, and workshops. Students who met with CAC-BU advisers were statistically more likely to apply to college (6.6%), receive a scholarship (11.1%), and perceive postsecondary information from high school as helpful (9.1%).
As the end of year approaches and our seniors make their final decisions, we invite you to support our advisers in celebrating our seniors' final choices. Your gift can support college decision celebrations and recognition events put on by our advisers in their school communities.
